On Saturday in the peninsula’s Barra district, the “Macao District Lifestyle Festival 2026: World Cup Series” kicked off its around two-week run at Navy Yard No.1 & 2 and its outdoor area.
Hopping off the bus at A-Ma (Ma Kok) Temple, one is immediately directed to the ongoing free-admission World Cup-themed event, where a variety of activities are provided for anyone – football fans included.
Visitors will be able to shop at one of the stalls set up around the venue, offering everything from jerseys and streetwear to small handwoven items to leather goods and perfume. Snacks and coffee, among other beverages, are also available.
Beyond that are activities for eventgoers and their families, all spread throughout the venue. These include “Goal Challenge” games and a mini outdoor football pitch. Also exhibited are a variety of football jerseys, while one area also sees memorabilia from former Macau footballer Domingos Chan Tat Sun.
According to its themed website, dance shows and skateboarding events, freestyle football acts and pet parades are also among the scheduled highlights.
The daily event, which runs until the day of the World Cup Final on July 19, is organised by the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations* of Macau and its District Development Centre. It is held in conjunction with German multinational athletic apparel and footwear corporation Adidas.
Aside from the Barra district, the festival is also being held at the Iec Long Firecracker Factory in Taipa and the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards in Coloane.
The Barra district hosts the event daily from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., while the event at the erstwhile Iec Long Firecracker Factory takes place from Fridays to Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. during its run. The concurrent festival at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards, meanwhile, takes place from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the weekend.
