US automaker Tesla hosted a media event at Lisboeta Macau in Cotai yesterday about its new 6-seater Tesla Model Y L public display at the resort’s Tesla Macau Experience Centres
The left-hand drive version of this car was launched in the Chinese mainland last autumn, while the version launch yesterday is a right-hand drive model suitable for Macau drivers.
According to Tesla Motors HK Limited Regional Sales Manager Kenneth Lui (呂建韜), the new model is a derivative of the previous Model Y, featuring a three-row, six-seat configuration.
Lui said that Model Y L offers a maximum cargo capacity of 2,539 litres, a WLTP*-rated range of 681 kilometres, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The price is 398,750 patacas, with deliveries expected in the second quarter of 2026, Lui said.
The Model Y L is equipped with a new active comfort suspension system and electronic shock absorbers, and the entire vehicle features acoustic glass, resulting in a quieter and more comfortable cabin.
Lui pointed out that both the first and second-row seats are ventilated and heated, with the second-row independent seats capable of being electrically folded flat, while the third-row seats also come with a heating function and independent air conditioning vents.
The onboard audio system has been upgraded to 18 speakers and one subwoofer, debuting the Immersive Sound X system, Lui said, adding that, the vehicle also features 16-inch and 8-inch dual touchscreens.
According to a statement released during the conference, in response to the government’s promotion of electric vehicle adoption, new order customers who obtain approval for charger installation will receive a free wall-mounted charger package including basic installation. Tesla currently operates 98 supercharger stations and 127 destination charging stations in Hong Kong and Macau, with a charger availability rate of 99.95 percent, the statement said.
