2 MPU subjects make rankings for 1st time
The Macao University of Tourism (UTM) achieved the 10th position globally, 1st in Asia and 1st in Macau in the QS [Quacquarelli Symonds] World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for hospitality and leisure management, garnering an “all-time high total score” in the area where over 1,500 global institutions were evaluated, the public university said in a Wednesday statement.
The statement said that the rankings rate universities worldwide by individual topic areas, with academic reputation, employer reputation, and citations per paper among the factors considered.
UTM shows steady growth in the rankings’ “academic reputation” indicator and a continuous rise in “employer reputation”. This reflects its graduates’ strong competitiveness and industry recognition, according to the statement.
UTM added in the statement that it is expanding its international cooperation network through various initiatives. The public university also noted in the statement that it will “remain committed to improving the quality of its education and fostering the next generation of professionals”.
