The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is welcoming applications from Macau’s F&B businesses and travel agencies for its Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme (QTAS), open from today till the end of the month.
According to a statement from the bureau yesterday, there is again no limit on quota for applicants from both sectors, with more information available on MGTO’s themed page on www.dst.gov.mo .
The statement noted that “QTAS 2026 Quality Tourism Services Silver Award” and “Quality Tourism Services Bronze Award” will be presented as new awards this year for both sectors, in addition to existing awards. Moreover, the “Courtesy Merchant Award” introduced in the travel agencies category last year is now extended to the F&B sector, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, the statement added that for participating catering businesses, they are now simplified into the subcategories of “Restaurant”, “Simple Dining Establishment” and “Food and Beverage Establishment”.
The statement added that “Mystery Customer Service Assessment” and “Service Management System Audit” will be conducted on participating businesses, with MGTO to hold assessment seminars to brief participants on assessment criteria.
Details of the scheme such as assessments and new awards were given during a presentation seminar yesterday, the statement said. During her speech at the event, the statement summarised, MGTO Deputy Director Jennifer Si Tou said that since the scheme’s inception in 2014, it has reached timely progress through incessant optimisation and innovation, providing important benchmarks for businesses’ service review and upgrade, recognition for accredited businesspeople and impetus for the sectors at large.
