The “Barra Lucky Blessing Market” kicked off on Friday in Barra district, with the event featuring art, shopping, performances and workshops for fairgoers until February 26.

The event is presented by MGM and Offside Concept.

Over 80 brands from Macau and elsewhere are gathered to showcase products ranging from accessories to pet essentials at the “Multi-Brand Concept Store” in the Navy Yard No.1 arts and culture compound, according to a statement released by the integrated resort operator that day. Also available are the “Blessing Lion” Intangible Cultural Heritage Paper-Cutting DIY package, launched by MGM in partnership with the Prince Kung Museum, aka Prince Gong’s Museum,* in Beijing.

Moreover, the concept store is also where one can take part in workshops for DIY windmills and phone straps.

A variety of art installations is also displayed throughout the market, the statement said, among which are the fibreglass work “Golden Wishes” by local creative brand SEMSORRISO (“No Smile”), reimagining the brand’s original IP “UNDERDOG” as “a lightweight, pink God of Wealth with a floating ingot boat”.

Other installations include the fibreglass artwork “Embracing Fortune” by Veng Lei Laboratory inspired by its IP “Fu Lu Shou”, and BERTILO, an original character co-created by Italian 3D artist Bertil Butturini and Chinese illustrator Jingo Li, the statement said.

The event also saw a gathering of over 400 guests comprising community groups, partners and communities for the “Poon Choi** Banquet”, which was held in two sessions, according to the statement.

Meanwhile, MGM is also set to launch CNY activities such as lion dance performances by the Macau 2049 resident show team, a “Stilt‑Walking God of Wealth” parade, and Spring Couplet calligraphy giveaways, the statement added.
