The Ritz-Carlton held a festive event for over 40 children from the St. José Ka-Ho Children and Youth Home in Coloane, according to a statement yesterday from the five-star hotel.
The “A Merry Merry Kids’mas” event took place on Tuesday in the integrated resort’s ballroom. Activities included Christmas-themed creative workshops, a tree-lighting ceremony, and a gift presentation. The statement noted that each child also received a specially selected present.
The gifts were provided through a month-long fundraising campaign held in November. According to the statement, guests, employees and the community at large contributed by purchasing gifts from a “Wishing Album” that displayed the children’s anonymous wishes.
The event was part of the hotel’s Community Footprints programme, which the statement said aimed to support the local community. The hotel partnered with the St. José Ka-Ho Children and Youth Home, which provides boarding support for children from underprivileged backgrounds.
Vice President of Operations at JW Marriott Hotel Macau and The Ritz-Carlton, Rauf Malik, was quoted by the statement as saying before the event: “Through ‘A Merry Merry Kids’mas’ we hope to create lasting memories for these children and remind them that they are cared for and valued.”
