The Civil Aviation Authority of Macau (AACM) announced in a statement yesterday that unmanned aircraft flights will be prohibited across the Macau peninsula from Saturday 8 a.m. till noon to ensure safety during the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG).
The four-hour drone ban over the peninsula, published in the Official Gazette (BO) No. 46, Series II, yesterday, is based on Article 66 of the Air Navigation Regulation of Macau. The measure aims to prevent risks or interference during the city’s torch relay activity.
Violators of the flight ban face fines ranging between 2,000 and 20,000 patacas, the statement said, urging the public to heed the ban in order to maintain safety and order throughout the relay.
