The “Sands China Responsible Gaming Parent-Child Happy Carnival” took place at The Londoner Macao on August 23, gathering around 160 staff members, local NGO members, and their children, the integrated resort operator noted in a statement earlier this week, which added that the event marked its third year.

The event supports the government’s “Seeking Help for Winning the Future” responsible gaming theme and featured 12 activities to “demonstrate the importance of parental engagement in teaching children healthy financial management concepts”, according to the statement. In addition to activities, it also enabled participants to learn about “good financial habits”.

Sands China Executive Vice Chairman Wilfred Wong Ying-wai was quoted by the statement as saying: “Debuting as Macau’s first responsible gaming-themed carnival in 2023, the event has been educating children in a fun way to help them understand the importance of learning how to spend, save, and make rational decisions, while promoting the vision of ‘building a prosperous future through parent-child financial education”.

The carnival was organised by the company in conjunction with Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, Young Men’s Christian Association of Macau (YMCA), Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home, Youth Volunteers Association of Macao, and Macao Bosco Youth Service Network.

It was also supported by the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS), the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), the University of Macau (UM), and Macao Polytechnic University (MPU).
