Teacher’s Day* was celebrated last Wednesday, and students conveyed their gratitude through artworks at the “2025 Teacher’s Day Poster and Comic Exhibition” (2025年教師節海報及漫畫作品展) in the Centre of Educational Resources of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ).
On until October 18, there are a number of artworks showcased at the free-admission venue, all created by students ranging from primary to university students. The works featured were selected from an open call that was held until April this year that had the objective of transmitting the message of love and respect for teachers through the creation of related works, according to the DSEDJ website, showing their gratitude through them.
A statement displayed at the gallery further highlighted the role of teachers, noting that they “bear the mission of nurturing talent and deserve respect from society”. The statement noted that the exhibition shares students’ gratitude for their teachers with members of the public, promoting “the traditional values of respecting teachers and honouring education, and expressing profound respect for the teachers in Macau”.
One can visit the venue from Monday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 5:40 p.m.
*Teacher’s Day is celebrated on varying dates in different parts of the world. In the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau it is annually commemorated on September 10, while in China’s Taiwan region it takes place on September 28. On the other hand, UNESCO established World Teacher’s Day on October 5. – Poe, Wikipedia
