The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) led a delegation to organise the “Macao Tourism + MICE Product Updates Seminar & Travel Mart” in Jakarta on Tuesday, where Macau’s “latest destination appeal and MICE resources” were showcased to Indonesian tourism operators, according to an MGTO statement released on that day.
Indonesia is ranked as Macau’s sixth largest visitor market and third largest international visitor market, the statement, citing visitor statistics from January to April, noted.
Joined by 148 participants, including MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, the seminar was held in Pullman Jakarta Central Park and facilitated “in-depth” exchanges. It featured an overview of Macau’s latest tourism development by an Indonesian Travel Agents Association (ASTINDO) representative, along with presentations by Macau’s Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and Macau’s six integrated resort operators. Senna Fernandes also addressed the Updates Seminar.
The statement added that a travel mart was also held at the venue.
“Through in-person networking, MGTO hopes that the travel trade from Macau and Indonesia can be offered an opportunity to design new tourism products, deepen collaboration and unveil business opportunities together, as part of [MGTO’s] endeavours to tap into the market potential of Indonesia and Southeast Asia”, the statement underlined.
