A male illegal immigrant from Vietnam bought aesthetic injections online and had provided the service to about 10 non-local residents since February at a residential flat in the city centre, the Judiciary Police (PJ) has announced today.
According to a regular press conference conducted by Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Lou Chan Fai, PJ officers seized over 200 unused syringes and about 84 doses for skin whitening and hydrodermabrasion treatments from the suspect – a 33-year-old Vietnamese surnamed Dinh, who had attended a basic medical course in Vietnam but not obtained a professional qualification.
In the course of investigating a sexual harassment report received on June 4, PJ officers arrested Dinh at his flat in the city centre, where they discovered more than 200 syringes as well as 84 doses for skin whitening and hydrodermabrasion treatments that are unlicensed in Macau, of which 15 doses had been used.
Under questioning, according to Lou, the suspect, who illegally entered Macau in February this year, admitted that he started to engage in illegal medical and aesthetic practices in the flat since February, adding that he purchased the treatments online for more than 100 patacas each from Vietnam and provided the service at 300 patacas in cash per injection to his customers who he met through online chat platforms.
Dinh has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP) today for further investigation.
