A documentary screening of “The Great Comeback: House of Dancing Water” was held at Studio City Cinema in Cotai yesterday, showing guests a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, technical expertise and teamwork involved in producing the aquatic show at City of Dreams (COD) in Cotai.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho Yau Lung attended the screening with media representatives and key opinion leaders (KOLs) from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau.
Addressing the event, Ho said that since returning with a new chapter in May 2025, House of Dancing Water has welcomed more than one million spectators and staged over 600 performances.
“It has become a must-see attraction showcasing Macau’s distinctive cultural appeal and diverse tourism offerings, as well as a landmark entertainment supporting Macau’s development as a ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’”, Ho added.
Ho also noted the show’s industry recognition, including the team receiving the Medal of Merit in Tourism from the local government and the production being named Best IR (Integrated Resort) Attraction at the 2026 IAG Academy IR Awards. IAG stands for Inside Asian Gaming. He thanked the production team, performers and backstage crew for their contributions.
The near 80-minute documentary follows the people behind the production, from stunt performers undertaking demanding feats to costume designers balancing artistic vision with the practical requirements of aquatic performances. It also highlights the resilience and coordination of performers and the integration of stage technology with artistic expression.
The show was recreated and reimagined by Giuliano Peparini, artistic director of Rome-based Peparini Studios, and produced by Our Legacy Creations (OLC). It combines aerial acrobatics, dramatic storytelling and stage technology.
According to a statement by Melco yesterday, “The Great Comeback: House of Dancing Water” is available on Tencent Video in the Chinese mainland, Apple TV in 65 countries and regions, including the United States and the United Kingdom, and Discovery in Asian markets. Further international platform releases are planned.
