The local government has launched 5,500 five-year regular quotas for private vehicles travelling between Macau and Hong Kong starting today until 6:00 p.m. on October 23 for applications by the general public, comprising 4,950 individual quotas and 550 corporate quotas, according to a statement from the Transport Bureau (DSAT) yesterday.
This application cycle features a fully digitised process and introduces a monthly batch-review, allocation, and notification system to enhance administrative efficiency, the statement said.
The statement noted that, aiming to streamline the application process and improve administrative efficiency, submissions and document resubmissions will be handled entirely through the “Macao One Account” platform for individual quotas and the “Business and Associations Platform” for corporate quotas.
In support of this regular quota application process, the Hong Kong authorities will provide an online payment system for licensing fees, which are set at HK$744 (766 patacas), eliminating the need for applicants to issue a cheque, the statement added.
The statement said that Hong Kong authorities will notify applicants on how to settle the licensing fees online according to application progress, adding that the Hong Kong authorities urge applicants to pay close attention to official notices and to submit documents and fees on schedule.
Interested individuals can submit their applications and pay the lucky draw participation fee (500 patacas) via “Macao One Account” and the “Business and Associations Platform” starting today until 6:00 p.m. on October 23, the statement said. All lucky draw and quota fees are strictly non-refundable once paid.
The statement underscored that no changes to information provided by the applicants will be accepted once an expression of interest is submitted, and any missing or incorrect data entered by the applicant may result in disqualification from the lucky draw and quota allocation.
The lucky draw results will be announced on October 30. The quotas are valid for five years, with a fee of 1,500 patacas per quota. Successful applicants must comply with all relevant regulations, failing which their quotas may be suspended or revoked.
