Power utility CEM held an e-karting event at Fun Fun Kart at Lisboeta Macau on Saturday, with the event gathering a total of 90 competitors and featuring a variety of prizes.
The competition at the Macau-themed integrated resort builds up on the success of last year’s event and drew racers from a variety of age groups, according to a CEM statement that day.
The highlight among them was the “Parent/Child” category, which had kids aged eight to 12 participating with their parents for the first time, the statement said, while the other two categories were “Youth” and “Open Group”, which had racers aged between 13 to 17 and 18 to 50.
Prizes were given to the fastest racers across the three categories, along with the “most stylish participants”, the statement said.
The statement noted that Saturday’s event was among the activities hosted by CEM encouraging public interest in the electricity sector, as well as to promote “healthier, environmentally conscious lifestyles”.
Held free of charge for Macau ID card (BIR) holders, the event was “a fun and engaging way to experience the possibilities of electric power in a family-friendly setting”, the statement said.
Last year’s edition drew a total of 87 participants chosen from 500 enrolees, according to a previous CEM statement.
