“Postcard Day” was celebrated in the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition at The Venetian Macao on Saturday, during which winning works were also awarded during the prize-giving ceremony of “Draw My Story of Stamps Contest”.
The contest, organised by the Macao Post & Telecommunications Bureau (CTT), aimed to encourage and discover more “to participate in cultural creative arts and design through stamps”, according to a Saturday statement by the bureau.
The statement did not say how many participants there were, nor how many awards were given out.
Winners were praised by CTT Acting Deputy Director Tam Van Iu for their “innovative interpretations of stamps”, the statement said.
The event also featured other activities including a workshop by local artist and stamp designer Wilson Chi Ian Lam where he guided a raft of participants to create stamps with Macau elements, the statement said.
The day also saw a seminar held by senior expert in Stamp Issuance Management, Liu Jianhui, during which he discussed printing techniques, design, artistic expression, and detailed analyses of several classic issues.
The ongoing free-admission exhibition, which its themed website described as “the first global-scale philatelic event to be held in Macau”, continues through Wednesday, July 1, with more details on https://www.macao2026.org.mo.
