The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) announced in a statement on Tuesday that the 2026 Macau Annual Visual Arts Exhibition will accept submissions from next Friday through Sunday (June 12-14), between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Macau Museum of Art (MAM).

This year’s exhibition calls for works in Western media, including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, videos, and multimedia creations. Participants must be aged 18 or above and hold a valid permanent or non-permanent Macau resident identity card (BIR), the statement said.

Participants can submit their applications individually or as a group, but each person/group may only submit one piece/set of work, and no double entries are allowed. All works must be original creations completed in 2024 or later, according to the statement.

The statement noted that the participants can submit their work, along with a completed and signed entry form and a copy of their Macau identity card, at the MAM during the specified period, according to the statement.

A new Jury Grand Prize will be presented to the winner, who will receive a cash prize of 80,000 patacas. The winning work will be displayed by the museum, while the winner will receive a certificate, the statement noted, adding that another new award, the Emerging Artist Prize (10,000 patacas), will be given to an artist aged 30 or younger to encourage young creators.

The Excellence Award (10 winners) continues with a cash prize of 30,000 patacas each. Furthermore, to support continued creativity and expand artistic exchange and exposure, all award winners will be invited to participate in a group exhibition to be held outside Macau by the bureau in the following year, the statement said.

The statement added that exhibition guidelines and entry forms are available to download on the Cultural Affairs Bureau website (www.icm.gov.mo) or can be obtained from the IC Visual Arts Division at the Tap Seac Creative Centre (commonly known as the Glass House). For enquiries, call 2836 6866 during office hours or email cam@icm.gov.mo
