Integrated resort operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) recently held the second Certificate Award Ceremony for the “GEG SME Series: Quality Enhancement Certification Programme”, according to a statement last week.

The ceremony was held at the Galaxy International Convention Centre in Cotai.

The programme, which offers management system training courses by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM), was launched in 2024, the statement noted.

During the recent ceremony, the statement said that nearly 40 suppliers who earned their certifications were recognised, while it gathered over 80 representatives from GEG suppliers and featured multiple exhibition booths

CPTTM Chief Senior Manager of Standards, Management, Training & Assessment Department Helena Lei was quoted by the statement as saying: “By leveraging our combined expertise and resources, we are helping participating suppliers to strengthen their core competitiveness and reach new heights in their growth”.

The statement also quoted GEG Senior Vice President of Procurement and Warehousing Peter Chow (趙啟偉) as saying: “Through the innovative ‘Theory + Practice’ model, we have empowered more suppliers to enhance their quality and operational capabilities. Since its launch, the initiative has supported nearly 80 local SMEs in obtaining professional certifications”.

The statement said that GEG suppliers participating in the 2025 programme obtained professional certifications such as “‘M-Mark’ Certification, the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Food Safety Management System, and the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, covering sectors such as food and beverage, engineering, and trade”.

“Beyond subsidising certification costs, GEG collaborated with CPTTM to provide tailored advisory services based on each enterprise’s actual operating conditions”, according to the statement.

The statement added that all three local food enterprises obtained the “M-Mark” Certification after passing comprehensive factory audits and product testing.
