Four outdoor swimming pools managed by the Sports Bureau (ID) will open to the public this Friday, May 1, providing residents with more options for leisure and exercise during the warmer season, the bureau announced in a statement yesterday.
The facilities consist of the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Swimming Pool on Avenida do Comendador Ho Yin, Taipa Central Park Swimming Pool, Hac Sa Park Swimming Pool and Cheoc Van Swimming Pool in Coloane, the statement said.
According to the statement, the pools will operate daily with opening hours divided into three sessions.
For Dr. Sun Yat Sen Swimming Pool, the sessions will open from 7 a.m. through 11 a.m., 12 p.m. through 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. through 8 p.m., while pool cleaning will take place every Monday.
Meanwhile for Taipa Central Park Swimming Pool, the sessions will open from 7 a.m. through 11 a.m., 12 p.m. through 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. through 9 p.m., while pool cleaning will take place every Wednesday.
Moreover, for both pools in Coloane, the sessions will open from 8 a.m. through 11 a.m., 12 p.m. through 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. through 9 p.m., while pool cleaning in Hac Sa will take place every Thursday, whereas every Monday for Cheoc Van.
In order to facilitate access, users can purchase tickets up to two days in advance or on the day of use through multiple channels, including the Macao One Account, the Sports Bureau website (https://www.sport.gov.mo) and its mobile application, the statement noted.
On-site ticket purchases are also available at each swimming pool counter, the statement said, adding that real-time information on the number of remaining tickets for each session will be provided via its website, mobile app and on-site displays at the swimming pools, helping users better plan their visits.
The reopening of the outdoor pools aims to enhance public access to sports facilities, encouraging residents to stay active during the summer months, the statement said, adding that the pools will be open until October 31.
