The three-day 2026 Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF2026) is set to feature a free “Green Public Day” this Saturday, encouraging residents to adopt low-carbon and waste reduction practices, according to a statement by the fair yesterday.
Organised by the local government, the fair will take place from Thursday to Saturday at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo under the theme “Low-Carbon, Zero Waste Cities: Embarking on a Global Collaboration”, the statement said.
According to the statement, the final day will be open to the public free of charge, offering access to a wide range of environmental information and green technologies from both local and visiting participants. The opening hours run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visitors will be able to explore exhibitions showcasing sustainable products and solutions, while participating in interactive activities such as stage games, workshops and educational booths, the statement noted, adding that the programme will also include performances and themed activities designed to promote environmental awareness and practical low-carbon lifestyle tips. Saturday’s event also includes a lucky draw.
In order to encourage green mobility, MIECF will provide four free electric shuttle bus routes connecting the peninsula and Taipa with the venue, the statement said, highlighting that a technical visit programme will also be held on Saturday, allowing participants to visit the Cotai Ecological Reserve and the Macau Refuse Incineration Plant in Pac On, Taipa to deepen understanding of environmental technologies.
Through its public day activities, MIECF aims to integrate environmental awareness into daily life and strengthen public engagement in building a low-carbon, waste-free city, the statement noted.
