Macau recorded 3,647,328 visitor arrivals in January, an increase of 0.021 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) yesterday.
In January 2025, Macau recorded 3,646,561 visitor arrivals.
Same-day visitors (2.254 million) rose by 4.6 percent year-on-year while overnight visitors (1.392 million) dropped by 6.6 percent.
Visitors’ average length of stay remained at 1.0 day, with that of overnight visitors rising by 0.1 day to 2.3 days.
Mainland Chinese accounted for 74.17 percent of all visitor arrivals. A total of 278,453 foreign nationals visited Macau in January, up by 15.5 percent year-on-year. South Koreans (75,198) and Filipinos (45,425) continued to be Macau’s top two foreign visitor segments.
Meanwhile, 1.236 million guests checked into Macau’s hotels in January, a year-on-year decrease of 1.7 percent. Foreign nationals accounted for 10.27 percent of the total number of hotel guests. The number of foreign hotel guests rose by 26.6 percent year-on-year. South Koreans (41,000) continued to be local hotels’ number-one foreign guest segment.
