CAC – Círculo dos Amigos da Cultura de Macau (Circle of the Friends of Macau’s Culture) and Albergue SCM* are again set to host their annual Chinese New Year (CNY) party, with the event set to take place next Tuesday at the venue on Calçada da Igreja de S. Lázaro (澳門瘋堂斜巷8號).
Featuring traditional snacks and drinks, along with activities, an exhibition, and performances, the upcoming “Celebration of the Chinese New Year of the Horse” party celebrates the Lantern Festival, which marks the final day of the traditional CNY celebrations.
According to a joint statement provided on Tuesday, among the event highlights is an exhibition showcasing calligraphy works at Gallery A2 of Albergue SCM. Titled “Success with Horses – Works by Choi Chun Heng and his Treasured Collections”, the exhibition will last over a month from next Tuesday through April 16, the statement said. Calligraphy master Choi will be present during the party for the exhibition’s launch, as well as to convey wishes for the Chinese New Year to participants through fai chun* or couplets.
Among the exhibition’s aims is to wish gallerygoers “a vibrant, prosperous, and successful Year of the Horse”, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, there will also be lantern riddles to solve and music performances for eventgoers, the statement added. The Wishing Well and Love Tree on the patio also continue to be on display and for festive wishes.
