The Friday statement noted that the exhibition, titled “Helena Almeida: I Am Here – Presence and Resonance” and held until April 26, will also feature 14 sets of Almeida-inspired works created by artists from the mainland and Macau.
Presented in two sections, the exhibition aims to showcase the Portuguese artist’s works as well as “reveal how her art and influence continues to reverberate in contemporary Chinese artistic practice”, the statement said.
In terms of the two sections, “Presence” will feature early paintings, photographic series, final sketch studies, preparatory sketches, and video works. “Resonance”, meanwhile, has been open since December 2025 and sees the Almeida-inspired works by mainland and Macau artists, demonstrating “how the enduring power of her art continues to resonate within the international art community”.
The Friday launch event will take place at 6:30 p.m., after which members of the public may view the works from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. More details can be found on www.MAM.gov.mo.
