Exhibitiongoers stepping into the Youth Artist Exhibition Room at 10 Fantasia Gallery will find various watercolours along with mixed media works on display for “‘ADVANCED’ Realm Artistry: Liang Jiajie’s Art Exhibition”.
Organised by the Macau Youth Art Association and having recently kicked off, the exhibition showcases a total of 32 watercolours of various sizes presented throughout the exhibition venue located on the gallery’s basement level, with many featuring vibrant colours. Visitors to the gallery will find quiet moments of nature and greens among the over 30 works on show. Moreover, aside from Liang’s paintings are mixed media pieces designed with colourful floral themes.
Elaborating on the exhibition, a statement on the gallery’s website notes that it goes beyond showcasing art works, serving as a medium for expressing life’s emotions, weaving together Liang’s doctoral research on life and emotional art education through lines, colours, and composition. The website statement also highlights the guidance he has received from his four mentors throughout his art journey.
Moreover, through the ongoing art showcase, the statement also highlighted that the artist “captures the essence of changing seasons to convey life’s rhythm and depicts everyday minutiae to preserve the warmth of human existence”. Moreover, curator Leong Sin Teng noted in a statement provided at the venue that the exhibition presents “a contemporary artistic practice about “constructing artistic conception” and “coexistence of life.”
Originally from Kaiping, Guangdong Province, and currently residing in Macau, Liang is a teacher and an artist who has won multiple awards. His profile on the Macau Youth Art Association website notes that he focuses on elementary art education and the psychology of children’s painting, having also guided students to enter more than a hundred art contests to excellent results. He mainly focuses on oil painting and watercolour illustration, the website notes.
The exhibition is organised by the Macau Youth Art Association in conjunction with several other entities, namely the Macau Artist Society, the Creative Industries Promotion Association of St. Lazarus Church District, 10 Fantasia, the Art Teacher Communication Association of Macau, and the Mountain and Sea Art Museum in the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
