The Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) and Huawei Services Company (Hong Kong) Ltd – Macau Branch launched a three-day artificial intelligence (AI) training course in Hengqin yesterday, aimed at strengthening the operational capabilities of certified technology enterprises in Macau, according to a statement by the bureau.
The “Practical Training Course in Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Huawei Certification under the Macau Technology Enterprises AI Transformation Digital Capacity Building Programme”, jointly organised by the bureau and Huawei, is being held at the Service Centre for Economy and Trade between China and Portuguese/Spanish-speaking Countries (CECPS) of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, the statement noted
Addressing the opening ceremony, DSEDT Director Yau Yun Wah underlined that artificial intelligence (AI) has become a key driver of global industrial upgrading, the statement said. He expressed hope that the programme will nurture more AI-skilled talent in Macau, enabling local technology companies to seize opportunities brought by AI empowerment, integrate new quality productive forces into product development, process optimisation and service innovation, and promote deeper integration between technological and industrial innovation.
The three-day course will provide professional AI training for staff from certified technology enterprises, covering core AI technologies, business applications and sector-specific use cases, the statement noted.
According to the bureau, a total of 30 participants from 16 certified technology companies have enrolled in the programme.
On the same occasion, the “Hengqin Digital and Intelligent Transformation International Talent Training Base” was officially inaugurated, with representatives from the In-Depth Cooperation Zone authorities and national education institutions attending the launch, the statement added.
