Macau team clinches more NSOG medals - 6 gold, 4 silver & 7 bronze

The Macau Special Olympics (MSO) announced on its Facebook page yesterday that the local team has clinched more medals – six gold, four silver, and seven bronze – at the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympics Games (NSOG).

Tuesday was the last day of the NSOG table tennis competition, and the local team clinched one gold, one silver and three bronze medals in the Women’s Singles and Men’s Doubles competitions.

The latest local table tennis medal winners are Ng Weng San, Women’s Singles 22-29 years old, Group E Champion; Kuan Un Kuan, Women’s Singles 8-11 years old, Group A Champion; Lam U Tong, Women’s Singles 8-11 Group A, third place; Ho Chi Iao, Women’s Singles 12-15 years old, Group F, third place; Leong Ion Lam and Lao U Kin, Men’s Doubles 16-21 years old, Group D, third place. All the ping-pong matches were held at the Tsuen Wan Sports Centre in Hong Kong. 

Tuesday also was the first day of the NSOG boccia competition at the Zhongshan Gymnasium, and the local team promptly won one gold and one bronze medals.

The boccia medal winners are Ao Ieong In and Chan sou Kuan, Women’s Doubles 22-30 years old, Group A Champion; Cheong Nga Man and Wat Hang Mei, Women’s Doubles 12-21 years old, Group E, third place.

Yesterday, the NSOG boccia competition was still going on but also the first day of the athletics competition at the Zhongshan Sports Centre Stadium, and the local team obtained four gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

Yesterday’s boccia and athletics medal winners are Wong Hou, Men’s Singles Long Jump 16-21 years old Group one Champion; Chan Man Hin, Long Jump Men’s Singles Group six third place; Wong Tak Hong, 100 metres Men’s Singles Group two Champion; Ng Weng Kuan, 50 metres 12-15 years old Group three Runner up; Wong Tak Hong, Men’s Singles Softball 8-11 years old Runner up; Chan Hio Lam, Women’s Singles Softball 8-11 years old Group one Champion; Chang Hoi Iao, Women’s Singles Softball 8-11 years old Group 2 Champion; Wu Un Un, Women’s Singles 100 metres 12-15 years old Group two Runner Up; Lai Kuan Kuai and Cheng Man Chong, Men’s Doubles 30 years old and older boccia Group A M11 third place; Chang Pui Kit and Ip Chon Hei Men’s Doubles 16-21 years boccia Group F M08 third place.

The NSOG boccia and athletics competitions will end this Sunday.

By last night, the local team had won a total of nine gold, seven silver and thirteen bronze medals.
