The Civil Aviation Authority of Macau (AACM) announced in a statement yesterday that unmanned aircraft flights will be prohibited across the Macau Peninsula from today through Sunday to ensure safety during the 72nd Macau Grand Prix (MGP).
The full-day drone restriction over the peninsula, published in the Official Gazette (BO) No. 46, Series II, yesterday, is based on Article 66 of the Air Navigation Regulation of Macau. The measure aims to prevent risks or interference during the city’s annual motorsport event.
Violators of the flight ban may face fines ranging between 2,000 and 20,000 patacas, the statement said, urging the public to heed the ban in order to maintain safety and order throughout the four motor-racing days.
