The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a recent statement that Japanese dance group Avantgardey and anime icon Chibi Maruko Chan were invited to be featured in their promotional video entitled “Dance & Leap Through Macau”.
The group and anime icon joined tourism mascot MAK MAK to visit attractions in Macau, showcasing their dance style at the Macao Giant Panda Pavilion in Coloane, Dinner in the Sky Macao at City of Dreams (COD) in Cotai, and Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre, as shown in the around 90 second-long video.
The statement said that the dance group is known for their bob-haired doll looks, perfectly-synchronised dance moves and quirky performance style. The video sees the group perform to the theme song of the widely-popular Chibi Maruko Chan anime*.
The statement said that the promotional video is released on MGTO’s platforms and social media, “painting a splash of fresh colour on the picture of Macau’s tourism industry.”
