The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Tuesday that the “Centre of Preservation and Transmission for Cultural Heritage of the Palace Museum in Macao” in Nape will be closed from tomorrow through Monday to show new exhibits of the “Forbidden City Architecture Conservation Exhibition”.
The centre is located on the ground floor of the Macao Museum of Art (MAM).
The current exhibition is the centre’s first since its inauguration in November last year. The centre itself is also the first cultural venue established through long-term collaboration between the local government and the Palace Museum in Beijing, according to the statement from the bureau.
The statement said that the exhibition has garnered over 30,000 visitors since it opened. The new exhibits will be displayed from October 28 through November 8, with the aim of introducing “more representative architectural components” and giving visitors a “more comprehensive understanding of the cultural significance and restoration practices of the Forbidden City’s architecture”, the statement said.
