The four-day “Hubei-Wuhan Macao Week” was recently held, during which the “Hubei-Macao Business Matching Conference” was also hosted by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

The business matching conference recorded close to 200 participants from Macau and Hubei taking part in over 140 “business matching talks” to explore cooperation opportunities in various fields, an IPIM statement released yesterday said.

The statement noted that a local company saw “great potential in the Wuhan market” and has got in touch with five Wuhan companies that showed interest in its products and are planning to visit Macau for site inspection.

Companies from Wuhan, the statement added, said that the event allowed them to “gain a deeper understanding of the business models and product features of Macau companies”, and they were also impressed by the “high-quality and the craftsmanship evident in Macau’s products”.

The four-day Hubei-Wuhan Macao Week kicked off on Friday and, according to the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) website, featured 46 booths across different themed zones. The “mega roadshow” also featured performances and interactive experiences such as a 3D installation and 3D mapping show, among others.

The website added that tourism-sector businesses presented over 26-million-yuan (29.3 million patacas) worth of special travel offers on items such as air tickets, hotels and dining at the roadshow and on different platforms.
