The Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said in a statement yesterday that 10 local enterprises participated in the “35th HKTDC Food Expo”, where they were able to avail themselves of business opportunities.
The expo took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from August 14-18 and was hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
According to the statement, IPIM and the Industrial Association of Macau arranged for the Macau enterprises to participate in the event, where a Macao Pavilion was set up. The pavilion saw “robust” sales while exhibition results “exceeded expectations”, the statement said.
The statement added that nearly 100 “Made in Macao” and “Macao Brand” products were showcased at the pavilion, with halal food gathering “significant interest” from buyers, while M-Mark certified health products served as a “credibility guarantee” for Macau goods. New product unveilings and supporting activities were also held there.
The statement added that Macau enterprises reached procurement agreements with companies from the mainland and Hong Kong, signing three letters of intent for co-operation involving contract manufacturing, new product collaboration, and supply agreements.
The statement noted that six promotional exchange activities were conducted along with 236 business matching sessions in various areas.
Moreover, during the expo, professional buyers from Hong Kong and the mainland visited the pavilion for discussions with local exhibitors and explored cooperation in different areas. It was also visited by Zhang Shuguang, vice-governor of Anhui Province; Bernard Chan Pak-li, undersecretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong; and HKTDC Executive Director Margaret Fong Shun Man.
