Local productions “Chris-mas Kingdom” and “Raving·Vibration Z” will each feature additional performances for the upcoming 35th Macao Arts Festival (MAF), the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The additional performances are due to “high public demand”, the statement said, with tickets to be sold from 10 a.m. today through Enjoy Macao Ticketing.
Regarding the two local shows, which are to be held at the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM), the statement said that the around one-hour clown show “Chis-mas Kingdom” will have its additional performance on May 18 at 4 p.m. The statement added that the performance that unveils social issues promises “an unexpected Christmas miracle for families with laughter and empathy”. It is presented by Own Theatre, one of the few local troupes specialising in clowning, in conjunction with Hong Kong’s Free to Play Theatre.
Meanwhile, “Raving·Vibration Z”, created by young local choreographer Lao Pui Lon, will be presented by Four Dimension Spatial and dissects the “loneliness and desires” of Gen Z through electronic music and contemporary dance, according to the statement, with the additional shows, each lasting around one hour, scheduled for May 24 at 7:45 p.m. and on May 25 at 2:45 p.m.
This year’s MAF, themed “Growth”, consists of 15 programmes and will be held from next Friday through May 31.
