Admission fees will be waived at the Macau Grand Prix (MGP) Museum in Zape on Thursday, which will also be holding special activities on that day in celebration of the 2nd anniversary of its re-inauguration since its revamp, according to a Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) statement yesterday.
Thursday will also see the launch of the museum’s new Motorcycle Racing Simulator, the statement noted, adding that riders can have a virtual experience of motorcycle racing on the Guia Circuit with the use of an advanced and professional motion system, as well as a virtual reality (VR) headset, among others.
The statement added that museumgoers will be greeted by MGTO mascot “MAK MAK” in a racing outfit between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the day, while a balloon twisting activity, where a limited number of twisted balloons will be given to museum visitors, will take place at 3:30 p.m.
On the same day, museum visitors can take pictures or videos with exhibits and MAK MAK, as well as at interactive games or the museum’s 360-video booth, which will be available between June 1-4, and share them on Facebook (set post as “public”), WeChat or Instagram with the tag “#MGPM#2ndanniversary”, according to the statement.
Those presenting posts with 20 likes or more can obtain a gift at the information counter on the museum’s basement floor between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the day on a first come, first served basis.
Meanwhile, the museum’s gift shop will have a special sale, while two new themed meal combos and limited gifts are available at the museum’s café, the statement said.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Tuesdays. For more information and how to purchase tickets, visit mgpm.macaotourism.gov.mo/en. One can also buy tickets at the museum. Online and offline e-payment methods are available.
