The “Yue Yunpeng & Sun Yue Stand-up Comedy Show” will be hosted at the Wynn Palace Grand Theatre on August 1, marking the return of mainland Chinese comedic duo to the venue after five years, according to a recent statement by the integrated resort operator.
The one-night performance, which also celebrates the company’s 20th anniversary in Macau, will see the theatre transformed into a “teahouse”, the statement said, with guests invited to gather over tea while immersing themselves in the “rich traditions of Chinese performing arts”.
The statement described the pair as “one of the most iconic duos in Chinese stand-up comedy”. Both are part of the Deyun Society*, where they formed their longstanding partnership.
The statement said that Yue is “one of the most popular comedians in the Chinese stand-up comedy scene” and has made multiple appearances on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. Moreover, Sun is known for his “composed, masterful delivery and impeccable comedic timing”.
