Non-profit institution CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism will be hosting its free-admission Rooftop Parallel Screening on the rooftop of Ponte 9 – Creative Platform on Rua das Lorchas this Saturday, presenting a documentary on its recently held community cycling activity “ON THE MOVE VIII: Coloane Lookout”.
The screening event at 6:30 p.m. that day is the second part of the cycling activity, which, for the first time since its inception, was held in Coloane, having taken place on May 23.
A statement by CURB yesterday noted that the activity promoted a “slower and more attentive exploration of the urban and natural landscape”.
The screening invites not only participants and collaborators, but also members of the public. The featured documentary, the statement said, was produced by a team of students from the private Catholic University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Bachelor of Communication and Media programme. It was coordinated by the Head of the Department of Media, Arts and Technology, Prof. João Brochado.
Meanwhile, invited artist Catarina Cortesão Terra will also be showcasing her related visual artwork at the event.
ON THE MOVE is an initiative that started in 2018. According to the statement, over the years, it has become “a favourite among the local community” and consistently achieves full registration. One can find more details on the group’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
