The 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) is being held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center through Monday, with the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) setting up a “Macao Pavilion” at the ongoing event.

An opening ceremony was held for the pavilion yesterday, with Wan Sucheng, director of the Department of Publicity, Cultural and Sports Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR); and IC President Deland Leong Wai Man among the officiating guests, according to an IC statement last night.

The pavilion, themed “Cultural Macao” and spanning around 300 square metres, is located within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural Industries Innovation Exhibition Hall, the statement noted.

Among the pavilion’s features are “an introduction to the ‘Historic Centre of Macao Route’, promotion of Macau’s major cultural events and branded activities, and the display and sale of distinctive cultural and creative products incorporating elements of Macau’s World Heritage and intangible cultural heritage”, according to the statement.

Also showcased is the “Old Macao” installation enabling visitors to take instant photos with a selection of Macau historic scene backgrounds, while demonstrations and performances of Macau’s intangible cultural heritage projects are also presented at the pavilion, the statement noted.
