Bottle cap mosaic initiative breaks IR’s 4th world record
Integrated resort (IR) operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) commemorated the 15th Anniversary of Galaxy Macau on Friday at Galaxy International Convention Centre (GICC) in Cotai, during which the company hosted a celebratory event along with its “Long Service Award Ceremony” that recognised over 9,500 staff with 10 or more years of service.
The company also recently commemorated the milestone by organising a world record attempt themed “Together We Build”, where 3,888 staff created a massive bottle cap mosaic from May 13 to 14, setting a new world record for “Most Contributions to a Bottle Cap Mosaic in 24 Hours” and marking the fourth time that the company achieved a world record title, according to a GEG statement on Friday.
The achievement was verified that same morning by the world record official adjudicator, in the presence of Caritas Macau Coordination Manager Joanna Wong Pui Kei and Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office (SKH) Service Coordinator Anny Yip Mei Kun.
A certificate was presented that day to GEG Chairman Francis Lui Yiu Tung.
During his speech, the statement quoted Lui as saying: “With nearly half of our team members having served for over 10 years, and many for more than 15 or even 20 years, this enduring commitment reflects the deep trust and strong sense of belonging that have enabled our people to grow alongside GEG”.
Lui, the statement said, also highlighted GEG’s continued efforts to enrich the development of its integrated resort, earning multiple international accolades. The statement added that GEG has hosted more than 1,000 high-profile entertainment, sports, cultural, and MICE events since 2023.
The event was attended by over 600 GEG executives and staff, alongside officiating government and company representatives, according to a statement issued that day.
