‘Local View Power’ open for submissions until April 10

Proposals for the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s (IC) “Local View Power” programme are now open to Macau ID holders aged 18 or older and are interested in film production, with applications accepted through April 10.

According to a statement by the bureau on Friday, the programme is divided into documentary, short-feature and animation, each further divided into advanced, open and freshman levels. 

The statement said that professionals will be invited to form an adjudicating panel to select up to 16 works. The shortlisted works, according to the statement, will receive “a total prize of up to 1.55 million patacas, subject to the category and level”; while individual shortlisted works can get up to 280,000 patacas for production costs, according to the statement. Professionals will guide and provide one-on-one advice to each of the selected teams.

The statement said that the programme will this year introduce “new targeted support measures”, adding that the adjudicating panel “will select no more than three outstanding works from the selected shorts, providing film festival strategy planning and international sales promotion services to the selected teams for a year”.
