Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) passport holders can now enter Kenya visa-free for a stay of up to 90 days per entry upon completing certain requirements.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the Identification Services Bureau (DSI), Macau passport holders must now obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation* (eTA) before travelling to Kenya.

The statement said that the Macau government received notification from the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Beijing regarding the new entry measures. All travellers, including Macau passport holders, are required to apply for the eTA prior to departure.

Once approved, travellers can enter Kenya visa-free for a maximum stay of 90 days per entry, the statement noted. Applications and further details are available on the official Kenya eTA website.

The bureau reminded residents that entry policies of various countries may change without notice. Travellers are advised to check official government websites or consult relevant embassies before their trip, and to prepare all required documents in advance to avoid travel disruptions.

For information on visa-free access or visa-on-arrival arrangements for MSAR travel document holders, residents can visit the Identification Services Bureau website https://www.dsi.gov.mo/en/visa

*An Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a digital pre-travel screening requirement that allows citizens from visa-exempt countries to travel to a participating nation for short stays. It is not a visa, but rather a permission to travel that is electronically linked to one’s passport. – DeepSeek
