The 2026 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2026MIECF) will be held from March 26 to 28 at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo, according to a statement issued yesterday by Macau’s Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).
The event will run under the theme “Low-carbon, Zero Waste Cities: Embarking on a Global Collaboration.” According to the statement, it aligns with Macau’s “1+4” economic diversification strategy and the “Macao + Hengqin” regional co-operation framework.
The statement said that the fair’s “Green Forum” component will bring together environmental experts and industry leaders from multiple countries to discuss topics including ecological civilisation, waste management systems, green finance, and regional environmental cooperation.
This year’s “Green Showcase” will feature three thematic exhibition zones. The statement noted that the inaugural “Zero-waste Circular Economy Exhibition Zone” has been established in response to global sustainability trends. It will host energy enterprises, environmental organisations from Portuguese-speaking countries, and technology firms focusing on waste management and green innovation. The other two zones are the “Green Mobility Zone” and the “Green and Low-carbon Project Zone.”
A new “Green Synergy Hub” will be introduced to facilitate business exchanges, featuring a business matching area and networking zone supported by technology systems, according to the statement.
The organisers stated that domestic and foreign buyers will be invited to participate, with the aim of strengthening links with Hengqin and the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Further information is available on the official website http://www.macaomiecf.com.
