Macau’s Judiciary Police (PJ) and the Chinese mainland Public Security Bureau (PSB) arrested four mainland men for robbery in two different cases, PJ spokesman Vong Kuan Hung said during a special press conference on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Vong identified the four unemployed suspects by their surnames – Yang, Li, Lin and She, aged 29, 30, 25 and 36, respectively.

Vong said that Yang and Li were the suspects in the first case, while Lin and She were the suspects in the second case.

According to Vong, on December 1 last year, a man from the Chinese mainland went to a hotel guestroom in Cotai for a “business meeting”, as scheduled. There, he was threatened with a knife by Li and robbed of HK$100,000 (102,676 patacas) in cash, while Yang kept watch outside the room. The victim sustained cuts to his forehead, ear, and hand, according to Vong, adding that Yang and Li left Macau immediately after the crime.

The Judiciary Police arrested Yang at the Macau Port (checkpoint) of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) on December 22, according to Vong, adding that the Chinese mainland Public Security Bureau reported to the Judiciary Police through the local Sub-Bureau of the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL that Li was arrested in Jiangxi Province on February 4, 2026.

According to Vong, on December 19 last year, a male mainlander engaging in illegal currency exchange activities was robbed of gaming chips worth HK$180,000 by Lin and She in a hotel guest room in Cotai, adding that the victim’s wrists and ankles were bound with zip ties. Around half an hour later, Vong said that the two suspects left the room and the victim managed to free himself and reported the incident to the police.

The two suspects left Macau via the Hengqin Port (checkpoint), adding that the mainland’s Public Security Police reported to the Judiciary Police through the local Sub-Bureau of the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL that the duo were arrested in Hubei Province on Thursday.

Vong also said that as the victim was involved in illegal currency exchange activities, he has been dealt with separately in another case.
