A new exhibition titled “Your past ‘art’ is our present ‘encounter’” at the Hold On To Hope (H2H) Gallery in Ka Ho Village in Coloane is set to kick off this Saturday, highlighting the transformative power of art and community.

H2H Project is an initiative by the Association of Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers of Macau (ARTM).

The Hold On To Hope Project announced on its Instagram page that the exhibition, curated by Mak Ka Man and featuring a variety of participants, will feature highlights such as the collaborative “Nine Dragons Wall” stitched together by six individuals and inspired by one of the nation’s treasured art pieces.

Twelve artists also use different mediums to showcase exhibits in the “Twelve Chinese Zodiac Signs”, while two “ancient embroidery” pieces will also be on show, the statement said.

The statement pointed out that the exhibition is grounded in the curator’s experience at a drug rehabilitation centre, which motivated her to connect with diverse individuals while acting as a guide at the Village of Our Lady in Ka-Ho H2H Gallery.

The gallery is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Meanwhile, it is open from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.
