The “Albergue Wishing Well and Love Tree 2026” is now on display in the Patio of Albergue SCM*, inviting members of the public to make wishes and jot down their hopes and messages for the coming Chinese New Year (CNY).
The “Albergue Wishing Well and Love Tree” is annually set up on the patio.
On until March 15, one may once again write down one’s hopes and even greetings to loved ones on heart-shaped message cards, this time for the Year of the Horse, according to a statement by organiser CAC - Círculo dos Amigos da Cultura de Macau (“Circle of the Friends of Macau’s Culture”). The cards can be hung on the Love Tree or on the Wishing Well throughout the Macao Foundation-sponsored event’s run on the patio.
CAC, the statement said, looks forward to visitors’ participation, noting that everyone is invited to make “beautiful wishes for themselves, their
families, and Macau at the beginning of the New Year, kicking off a year full of hope and creativity as we welcome the wonderful times of the Year of the Horse”.
*Albergue is Portuguese for “hospice”. SCM stands for Santa Casa da Misericórdia (“Holy House of Mercy”), Macau’s oldest charitable organisation.
