Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), with the support of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), has recently partnered with the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (MYEIC) to organise the two-day “Made in Macau” Market at Galaxy Macau’s back-of-house area, drawing “enthusiastic participation”.
According to a recent statement from the integrated resort operator, the event provided a platform for 10 local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups to directly present their products to GEG staff, bringing direct additional revenue to exhibitors.
The statement said that the event, for which booth fees were waived while various forms of support was also provided, further highlighted the market appeal of locally made products and was curated and carried out by the winning team from the previous “Made in Macau” Event Organiser Competition. The contest was won by “Axon Space Interior Design” Engineering Co. Ltd., which garnered a curation contract worth 200,000 patacas.
During his speech at the event’s opening ceremony, GEG Senior Vice President of Procurement and Warehousing Peter Chow (趙啟偉) said: “Through this platform, we aim to encourage young entrepreneurs to unleash their creativity and strengthen their professional skills during the planning and execution process. At the same time, we hope to create more business opportunities for SMEs and foster their sustainable development.”
MYEIC Director Andy Ng (吳聰) said that the collaboration opens the channel for local SMEs and start-ups to connect and “enhances the visibility of locally made products, reflecting GEG’s commitment to its ‘Large Businesses Leading Small Businesses’ collaboration model and ongoing support for local enterprises and Macau’s economic diversification.”
The statement added that GEG plans to host a Coffee Expo at the Galaxy International Convention Centre (GICC) in January, with details to be announced soon. A logo and name design contest has been launched for the expo, with the winning entry to be featured across all promotional materials.
