Regency Art Hotel’s “Zam Zam Restaurant”* is participating in the “Macao Food Festival” in Sai Van for the first time this year, according to a statement from Lisboeta Macau yesterday.

The festival opens today and will run through the end of November.

The debut supports the city’s status as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy and Macau’s development as a Muslim-friendly travel destination, the statement said.

Currently the only Halal-certified Middle Eastern restaurant within a hotel in Macau, Zam Zam Restaurant will present a variety of signature specialities from the Middle East and South East Asia during the 17-day festival. The statement noted that the menu includes dishes such as Shish Kebab, Chicken Biryani, and Hummus (a creamy dip made from mashed chickpeas blended with tahini (sesame paste), lemon juice, and garlic), each showcasing the rich and diverse essence of halal cuisine.

The statement also highlighted remarks from General Manager of Regency Art Hotel Willie Tay: “Promoting halal dining culture allows us to cater to the needs of a diverse range of guests while fostering cultural exchange and strengthening Macau’s international reputation.” He added that the participation “reflects our hotel’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and our ongoing support for the diversification of Macau’s tourism development.”

The restaurant’s booth (No. B15) is designed with a blend of classic Middle Eastern elements and modern elegance, the statement said, adding combined with traditional halal cooking techniques, it offers visitors an immersive Arabian culinary experience.

The statement also noted that the flagship restaurant, located within the Regency Art Hotel in Taipa, accommodates 120 guests and features a menu of Halal cuisine from the Middle East and South East Asia, including nomadic and Bedouin recipes.
