The Judiciary Police (PJ) announced in a statement that their Reporting and Emergency Operations Centre received a report at around 3:58 p.m. yesterday that two women were involved in a serious stabbing incident in a hotel room in Taipa, both of whom were rushed to an unspecified hospital for emergency treatment, but one of them could not be saved.
According to the statement, PJ officers immediately arrived at both the crime scene and the hospital to investigate, adding that a preliminary investigation revealed that the two women were having an argument in the hotel room at the time of the incident. The deceased woman was stabbed by the other woman; the latter was also injured during the altercation.
The statement noted that the injured woman is suspected of causing death by stabbing, but as she requires hospitalisation, she is being held by PJ officers at the hospital until her discharge, after which a dedicated PJ department will conduct a further investigation.
The Judiciary Police will release further information as the investigation progresses, the statement said.
