Zhuhai’s Gongbei Customs announced in a statement yesterday that its officers seized six bottles of Maotai from a mainlander at Gongbei Port (checkpoint) last Wednesday.
According to the statement, on that evening, customs officers at the Zhuhai Gongbei border checkpoint noticed a female mainlander surnamed Yu carrying two unusually heavy shopping bags, so they decided to intercept her for inspection.
The inspection revealed six bottles of Maotai concealed in six beverage boxes.
The statement underlined that smuggling includes the concealing, disguising, misreporting, or otherwise evading of customs inspection when transporting, carrying, or mailing dutiable goods entering or leaving the mainland, and that serious cases that constitute an offence will be subject to criminal liability in accordance with the law.
Customs seizes tablets, racquets, cameras and lens
Meanwhile, Zhuhai’s Gongbei Customs announced in a statement on Tuesday that its officers seized 40 Ipads, 123 racquets, 11 cameras and seven lenses from a local driver on Sunday at Gongbei Port.
According to the statement, customs officers seized 40 “APPLE” Ipads, 84 “WILSON” branded racquets, 39 “YONEX” branded racquets, 11 cameras and seven lenses from a dual-plate vehicle during an inspection of the car at the Gongbei Port inbound cargo inspection lane.
The statement underlined that smuggling includes concealing, disguising, misreporting, or otherwise evading customs inspection when transporting, carrying, or mailing dutiable goods entering or leaving the mainland, and that serious cases that constitute a crime will be subject to criminal liability in accordance with the law.
