Good day to you all!
Today, under the light of the National Games flame, we gather here to witness the successful completion of the torch relay for the 15th National Games, Macau Special Administrative Region. On this occasion, I would like to express, on behalf of the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region, our sincere gratitude and highest respect to the Central People’s Government, the General Administration of Sport of China, the Guangdong Provincial Government, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, all torchbearers, staff, volunteers, and everyone who has shown concern and support for this National Games.
Symbol of brightness & hope
The flame of the National Games symbolises brightness and hope; the torch relay represents the transmission of spirit and the gathering of strength. Today, the sacred flame has traversed the streets of Macau, passed along by 50 torchbearers in a relay that showcases the vibrant spirit of our city, with each handover embodying the sportsmanship of unity and hard work. At this moment, the flame converges before the Ruins of St. Paul's, collectively illuminating the brilliant light of "United Greater Bay Area, Together in the National Games."
Simplicity, safety, splendour
As the National Games flame gathers here, we will take this as a new starting point, adhering to the principles of "simplicity, safety, and splendour" in hosting the events in the Macau region. We will spare no effort in ensuring the successful organisation of the National Games and the Special Olympics, contributing Macau's strength to the occasion, allowing the unique charm of "Vibrant Macau" to shine on a larger stage.
Finally, I sincerely wish for the 15th National Games to be a resounding success! May our motherland prosper and grow strong, and may Macau embark on a new chapter!
