The CreatorWeek Macao 2025’s Creator Academy concludes this afternoon at Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP) in Cotai, capping two days of sessions aiming to bring together global content leaders, creators, and industry professionals to exchange ideas on creativity, innovation and sustainability in the creator economy*.

The CreatorWeek Macao 2025 opened on Friday, striving to gather international content creators and social media leaders for a five-day “creative celebration”.

Jointly organised by the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and international media production company “Branded”, the Creator Academy serves as a practical platform where leading figures in social media, branding, and entertainment share strategies on fan engagement, creative integrity, and career growth in the digital landscape, according to an MGTO statement on Saturday.

The Creator Academy activity was held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. yesterday and will take place today at the same time.

Among the speakers has been Black Eyed Peas** member Allan Pineda Lindo – known professionally as “apl.de.ap”, a Filipino-born hip hopper who operates in Los Angeles in the United States – who in a Q&A session yesterday afternoon emphasised authenticity and innovation in content creation. He pointed out that “it’s time to really create authentic, unique, and original Filipino music,” and urged young creators to “embrace technology but use it as a tool to improve the music landscape.”

By merging global expertise with Macau’s distinctive East-meets-West culture, the Creator Academy aims to reinforce the city’s role to become a hub for digital innovation and creator collaboration in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and beyond, according to the MGTO statement.

*The creator economy refers to the economic system built around independent content creators (like YouTubers, podcasters, bloggers, artists, etc.) who monetise their skills, audience, and content. This includes the platforms, tools, and services that support them (e.g., Substack, Patreon, Etsy, TikTok, YouTube Partner Program). – DeepSeek
