Integrated resort (IR) operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has recently organised two study tours for students from the “Youth Science and Technology Village” programme, which it has been co-organising with the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) and Macau Science Centre since 2023.
The two tours were organised as part of the programme’s 2025/2026 academic year curriculum for around 60 new students, being designed to help participants gain “a deeper understanding of technological applications in tourism and leisure while broadening their horizons in technological innovations”.
The places toured included Galaxy’s Lai Chi Vun Shipyards revitalisation project, featuring exhibits that “integrate technology and showcase the history of Macau’s shipbuilding industry”.
The integrated resort operator added that it also invited the revitalisation project’s multimedia consultant Dirco Fong, who discussed the technological innovations and practical applications featured in the area, with the topics sparking “the students’ interest in technological innovation”, the statement said.
The students also visited the Diamond Lobby at Galaxy Macau in Cotai to watch its Diamond Show, with the statement adding that that this enabled them to witness the large-scale installation to help them “gain valuable insights into the behind-the-scene technological applications”.
The statement said that they also went on to visit “In the Mind of Bruno Moinard”, a special exhibition at Art Macao 2025, aiming to help “expand artistic horizons while reinforcing cross-disciplinary creative thinking alongside technological knowledge”.
The statement said that the programme has evolved in diverse content and has this year expanded its enrolment and “placed particular emphasis on enhancing AI-related training to strengthen students’ digital literacy and practical skills”.
