“Slava’s Snowshow” will be returning to Macau as a highlight of the 2nd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival (MICAF), according to a statement provided by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) yesterday.

The clown show, conceived by master clown and founder of the Clown Theatre Academy, Slava Polunin*, will run from August 22 to 24 at the Macau Cultural Centre’s (CCM) Grand Auditorium. The statement noted that the performance uses physical artistry, poetry, and circus elements to create a magical winter world with giant balloons and falling snow, offering a non-verbal spectacle for all ages.

Meanwhile, another featured show, the family choir musical “Whispering Zodiac: The Chinese Zodiac Choral Concert”, will be performed on August 30 by students from the Macao Conservatory, the statement said.

The statement added that the “MICAF Fun Day” Arts Carnival will take over the CCM Plaza for two consecutive weekends, August 22 to 24, and 29 to 31. The statement said the free-admission event will feature a 10-metre-high inflatable installation, a “foam party”, a water party, workshops, game stalls, and various interactive performances.

A “Talent Show” has been added to this year’s edition, allowing children to showcase their talents. Registration for the “Talent Show”, “Backstage Adventure”, “Water Fun Party” and “Foam Party” opens on August 20 via the festival’s official website.

Tickets for the paid performances are on sale through Enjoy Macao Ticketing, with special family and children’s packages available, added the statement.
